Mike Casteel
Mike Casteel has been a professional musician for the past 23 years. Residing in Nashville, TN, he is a trumpet player who can be heard on a diverse collection of projects including the feature film soundtrack “BILLY GRAHAM: THE EARLY YEARS”, Yolanda Adams’ “What a Wonderful Time” and most recently, Hank Williams Jr.’s upcoming release “Gulf Shore Road” (2009). Mike is a Dove nominated artist for “Praise and Worship Instrumental”, produced by Wayne Haun. In addition to his recording schedule, Mike is a sought after performer for live events, and has shared the stage with numerous artists including Aretha Franklin, Shelby Lynne, The Temptations, Natalie Cole, Wayne Newton, Brenda Lee, Randy Brecker and Debby Boone. Mike has also played with the Nashville, Chattanooga, and Huntsville Symphonies, Orchestra Nashville, Mr. Jack Daniel’s Original Silver Cornet Band and is a member of the Nashville Jazz Orchestra. Mike began his career with Danny Davis and the Nashville Brass, and was featured with an unusual double, 5-string Banjo. He has continued to play 5-string banjo and has been featured on several Big Idea VeggieTales Video projects.
Mike is also an orchestrator and arranger whose credits include the feature animated film, “THE PIRATES WHO DON’T DO ANYTHING – A VEGGIETALES MOVIE” and David Phelps’ project, “The Voice”.
