jimmy_bowlandJimmy Bowland performs regularly on alto, tenor, baritone and soprano saxes, flute and clarinet. He has been a professional musician in Nashville for the past seventeen years and has enjoyed to the fullest extent the immense musical diversity Nashville has to offer. From southern rock flute on John Rich’s latest release, to aggressive Tower of Power style baritone sax, to horn section work on contemporary gospel and pop/rock tracks, to classical tenor sax with the Nashville Symphony, to screaming solos with the Motown Funk Brothers, he approaches it with precision and passion.

The list of artists with whom he has performed or toured includes: Aretha Franklin, Kirk Franklin, Kenny Rogers, The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Ojays, Mary Wilson, Debbie Boone, Smokey Norful, Bob Hope, The Funk Brothers, Billy Gilman, The Box Tops, Ray Price, Delbert McClinton, Nashville Symphony, Nashville Saxophone Quartet and the iconic Brenda Lee for the past 17 years.

He has performed on numerous TV and radio broadcasts including the Grand Ole Opry, Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Funk Brothers DVD “Live from Orlando”, the Dove Awards, Smokey Norful’s DVD “Live” and the Gospel Music Channel’s “Gospel Dreams” to name a few.

Jimmy’s sax, woodwind and horn section work can be heard on hundreds of projects that have come out of Nashville studios. Notable artists include: The Clark Sisters “One More Time” (Grammy Award winner), John Rich, Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens), Delbert McClinton, The Mavericks, Dionne Warwick, CeCe Wynans, Yolanda Adams, Sandi Patty, Donald Lawrence and Suzy Bogguss.

In addition to performing, Jimmy Bowland has also been active as a horn section arranger for both live and session work along with contracting musicians locally and nationwide for projects of all descriptions.
